We showcase Cynthia Clay and NetSpeed Learning Solutions today as living the 7-steps of Resonant Insights, particularly Step 3–Commitment.  Read about their amazing success in these challenging economic times.

Cynthia Clay started NetSpeed Learning Solutions in 2001, launching a leadership development program for first-level supervisors (NetSpeed Leadership). Over the past decade, she has led the company through continuous growth in corporate clients and revenues. Their  vision of “engaging people, igniting performance” is expressed through innovative training programs and services offered to clients as diverse as BP, Monsanto, Allergan, XO Communications, and the US Tennis Association. Expanding from a team of two employees to a team of seven employees (and ten contractors), NetSpeed Learning Solutions strives to deliver outstanding service in every client interaction.

Three years ago, Cindy attended a conference where she spotted a woman wearing a button that read, “Thanks. I choose not to participate in the recession.”  Captured by that notion, and inspired by her grandfather, an entrepreneur who thrived during the Great Depression, she vowed to look for the opportunities that would allow NetSpeed Learning Solutions to continue to grow, despite the dire economic predictions.

Recognizing that the training industry would reduce its reliance on face-to-face training and begin to move to web conference platforms like WebEx and Adobe Connect, Cindy and her team leapt into the world of virtual training delivery, developing a well-received virtual trainer certification program, publishing Great Webinars: How to Create Interactive Learning that Is Captivating, Informative and Fun, and creating web-based versions of their leadership development and customer service training programs that clients now license for internal delivery. These innovative offerings have resulted in a three-fold increase in revenue over the past three years.

Cindy says, “2010 will be our best year ever, I’m delighted to report. But even more satisfying to me is my own personal and spiritual development. I’m striving to be the best leader I can be.” Cindy has learned to trust her deep sense of possibility, focusing optimistically on creating a future that she envisions, rather than being dragged down by pessimistic forecasts. “Who gets to decide how successful my company will be?” she asks. “I believe in keeping my focus on what I want to create, not on the negative forecast I hope to avoid.”
